Here is my first pair of Plain Jane socks that I worked on yesterday:
I call them my Chestnut Ochre Socks because I created them with Chestnut Brown and Golden Ochre dyes in my "sock crockpot". I used a Donegal Tweed mix so I could get the tweedy bits of color in there too.
My goal is to make 15 pairs of sock for the Summer of Sox 08. Since the last day to compete is September 1st, I need to complete at least one sock every two days. This will get a little tricky since I usually work on three pairs at one time so I can avoid "Second Sock Syndrome". We are off to Cleveland today to attend a graduation party. We'll see how much I can get done in the car. Plus, back to work tomorrow. UGH.
Here's Dixie:
She is my Senegal Parrot, 10 years old. She doesn't do much talking, except for the obligatory "Hi Dixie" and "Good Bird". She has mean whistling capabilities, though. We're learning "Old McDonald" right now. Plus, she does a perfect imitation of the front screen door opening. I'm forever thinking someone is coming in the house! :)

DIXIE! ...what?
