I tried to post last night, but the terrible storms we had said otherwise. We have a NOAA weather radio since we live out in the middle of nowhere. It was going off over and over again, to the point where I started ignoring it. Then, I was so busy logging in to the computer that I vaguely heard something about a severe thunderstorm in an area pretty close to my house. I was like, yeah, whatever.... keep typing Dani. At some point it seemed really too quiet and eerie, and I looked out the window and it was dark. I mean scary dark. Uh oh... Let's just say running around and unplugging everything DURING a storm is probably not smart (then again, I am the proud owner of "probably not smart"). That will be on my tombstone. Paul came running in the door right when a huge tree branch broke off of one of our back trees (right over the propane tank). As a matter of fact, it was still storming and Paul was out there with the dump truck pulling the branch off of the tree. Dude couldn't even wait five minutes before fixing what was wrong. Where did I get this guy anyway?
Anyway - to my question. Are you a multi-crafter? 1) Do you like to enjoy several projects of different crafts all at the same time? Or, 2) do you like several different crafts, but only work at one craft at a time? Honestly, I would have to say I am No. 2. I've tried to work on different crafts on different days of the week, but when I work on something (anything) I want to work on it again the next day. I don't want to move on to something else. My brain won't switch for me. I will say though that I do like to spin and knit together, but they are spread out. There are some people who can knit something one day, crochet an afghan the next and move onto cross-stitch, etc. What do you do?
For example, I used to be an avid quilter. I remember when I first saw this little quilting book and thought, "Oh, how cute. I will buy that just to look at the pictures." Yeah - I ended up following all of the directions and using whatever fabric I had to make a totally hand-pieced and hand-sewed lap quilt. I still have it hung up in our bedroom to look at.
Please, for the love of frank, don't look closely at this thing. It probably has six inches of dust on it! HA! Look how evenly those dots line up. Unbelieveable. I don't think I could accomplish that again and keep my sanity. I will say that I learned later about sewing machines and promptly moved on to one to do quilts, except for I still did a lot of the actual "quilting" by hand. I made several large quilts and small ones, including a wedding ring, bear tracks, etc. and gave them all away except this one. I learned everything there was to learn about making quilts, bought fabric and supplies like they were going out of style. Then, one day, I bought a little knitting book. I though, oh, how cute, maybe I'll try to knit myself a scarf. Yeah. Let's just say that I do have one more quilt in process (one finally for Paul and I). Here it is:
Can you see it? Yeah - out of sight, out of mind I always say.....
Here are the Sea Blue Socks, down to the heel flap:
And I have one of the Eyelet & Flame Socks done, but I need a model to show off the lace. I'll see if I can sucker someone into it today and show it to you tomorrow. People - Hide Your Feet!

I am just the same way! First big obsession was quilting, but I've moved on to spinning, knitting, weaving, cross-stitch, needlepoint, etc, etc. Not in that order, though. I think what's holding me back from quilting right now is lack of space. You really need to be able to spread out and leave it while you work on it.
Whatever I'm doing at the moment is my chosen passion. If I'm spinning I think, "Oh, this is all I ever want to do." Same thing for knitting (though I am a little sick of socks.) Same with cross-stitch.
Usually I have one of almost everything out so I can switch around through the week. The quilts are being seriously neglected though. I need another house!
We got the storm first. It knocked me off the computer, so I just went to bed. You're probably about 40 miles east of us (I'm in Northern Warren County) so we usually see the bad weather before it gets your way.

I tend to be a little obsessive with my crafts. I do one at a time and like Lisa I will think, "This is The One. I'll do this forever."
I love to crochet with thread, quilt, cross-stitch. I've done the decorating sweatshirts and tee-shirts thing. Right now it is knitting socks. (For how long I can't say.) I have a quilt that is almost totally hand quilted that has been abandoned.
And I keep buying novels and putting them in the shelf to be read "someday."

I'm pretty much on the obsessive track too. I get crazy about one thing until I get bored with it and move on to something else.
