I'm moving along on the Ravelympics projects. I am learning new techniques knitting the Nutkin socks. This is only the second time that I've knit a short row heel, and this one is a little different than the first one I did. No wrapping stitches in this one.
This pattern also calls for a short row toe. I have never done one of them before. We'll see how much I like that. The sock is still really stiff, though. Maybe I am knitting too tightly? I don't work with size 1s very often. Maybe the yarn is over-twisted? The leg keeps trying to go diagonal. Instead of "light blocking" like this pattern calls for, we may have to go for medium to "straighten up you sucker" blocking....
I haven't spun any more of the blue/black/red swirl since finishing these two skeins on Sunday.
Hopefully tonight I can get going with a couple more bobbins. I think I need to do three more skeins before the roving is gone. That's six bobbins if you are doing two-ply, which I am. I'm losing sleep, though, staying up to watch Michael Phelps win his golds. I'm pretty sure that I'm starting to forget stuff (like how to do my job) ... Too bad I can't "forget" to eat too!

I love those Nutkins. That's such a great pattern. You're yarn looks great!
Isn't Michael Phelps awesome? He just blows my mind.

I've done short row heels, but never short row toes--should be interesting.
Ha! I keep forgetting that "other" Olympics is going on as well.

I have been enjoying watching the Olympics too, and find myself up later than I anticipate.
I love the yarn you are using for your socks, great colors for a Nutkins.
Your spinnning is gorgeous. I so want to learn to spin .... someday.

Pretty hand-spun yarn. Have you thought about what to make with it yet.
Sure glad Phelps is on our team!
