I'm also on Team Ohio in the Ravelympics. I chose to do two projects for the "Sock Put" so I could have double credit with SOS 08. The two projects? First, I'm going to do Nutkins and I'm not going to make any pattern changes (that's the challenge). I'm using this to make them:
It's Yummy from fibranatura. No colorway name, just numbers. It is 100% Superwash Wool. I'm hoping the short color repeats wil go good with Nutkins. We'll see. Second, I'm going to do a pair of plain stockinette socks using this:
This is Happy Feet (no colorway name again, just numbers). It is 90% Superwash Merino Wool and 10% Nylon. The challenge here is for me to be able to do two pairs of socks while spinning oodles of fiber!
All together for the Ravelympics, I have one pound, 12 ounces of fiber to spin and two pairs of socks to knit. Is this doable? Am I probably not smart again? I have two weeks and two days to finish all of it.
Here's the "Project Warm-Up/Practice Area":
While driving to work this morning I mentioned to Paul that I would like to try to get Friday off of work if all goes well. He said, hmmmm.... (not paying attention, really). I then said I wanted to get started on my Ravelympics projects because Friday was the first day. He said, the Ravel-what?! Got his attention there, didn't I? he he
Also, I'm almost done with the Step Socks and still working on the Red & Blue Socks which need to be done by Friday... The Spring Forward Socks have moved to the end of the line (after the two above pairs had to be added). They hate me now...

You can do it!! That purple/bronze yarn is to die for, and I love the purple roving too. (Hmm...sort of a theme there...) Yes, yes--take the day off Friday! You deserve it after the fish tank and cheerleader skirt jobs.

That purple fiber looks like cotton candy--yummy.
I want cool Ravelympic badges for my blog! I'm going to have to go scope out my teams to see if anyone clever is sharing.
We saw a commercial on NBC about the Olympics being Live in Primetime. I said I thought they would be at 8am our time. Hubby couldn't understand why I was stressing out, I haven't explained the Ravelympics yet.

hehe, Ravelwhat? Sure makes for a bit of conversation, uh? There are not that many people I can talk to about the ravelympics. Or I can, actually, if I want to delight myself with some funny looks.
Your first hank there, the Yummy thing, looks seriously yummy.
Good luck on your goal. I set out to zipper one vest that's languishing since March or so, and doing the back and sleeves for a sweater... let's see.

I love that Happy Feet. Love bright colors.
Thanks for your comments on my blog. I love that sock pattern, I've done it before. And you were right on; I started the short socks and will frog and reknit. It is a nice pattern and the socks are turning out great, except for the mistake. I don't have a clue why I didn't pay attention. Maybe I was hurrying??
