I'm home today. I took an extra day off from work which made it a five day weekend for me. I spent the morning ordering some Christmas gifts on-line. Apparently it is Cyber Monday, did you know this? They said on the news this morning that most everyone will be shopping on-line today, including people at work. Wow, who shops on-line while they are working? he he
Marion is the big winner of the Cross-Stitch Book! Congratulations! It is a wonderful book you will enjoy. Please send me your snail mail address and I'll send it to you.
Taupe Gable: I know I said you wouldn't be seeing this until after Christmas, but, well.... I worked on the yoke this weekend.
Forgive me the poor lighting and blurriness. Today is the first day of gun season for deer and I'm not going outside. Not that I look like a deer, but you hear so much about stray bullets and such, ya know? Why tempt fate? Here's the back:
Seriously, don't adjust your glasses. We have issues here....
I also worked on Daniel's Hoodie. I have the back, front and one sleeve almost done.
I peaked ahead at the hood construction and it seems a little difficult. Hopefully I'll be able to follow the directions. Unlike knitters who read the full directions before starting a new project, I like to dive right in and get almost through the project before finding out I have no idea what I'm doing. It's fun that way. Don't you think?
I also finished the Sun Periwinkle socks, which went into the "sock basket."
Here's a close-up of the tweedyness:
My Christmas knitting list doesn't seem too bad this year. I have two pairs of stealth socks, two beanies for Pauley, Daniel's Hoodie and my Mom's Palindrome hat and scarf. I can do that, right? Actually, Mom saw my Diamond Moss Stitch Vest from Knit 'n Style December, 2007 (I wore it for the Thanksgiving festivities) and decided she wanted one of those instead of the hat and scarf AND THEN told me she had enough hat and scarves already..... Remember the "Red, is there any other kind?" post? yep. Love you Mom. :)
I'll leave you with my acquisition from CJ Kopec Creations.
It's 8 oz. of "Sha-Zam" - Hand Painted Masham Roving (a blend of Wensleydale and another breed I believe). Doesn't it look just like Candy Corn? Love it! Thank you CJ for your beautiful creation!
