On Saturday, Paul, the camera and I went to the Great Lakes Fiber Festival in Wooster, OH. I think this is our fourth or maybe fifth year going. We tried to remember, but . . . well - as you get older you will understand. I had full intentions of taking all kinds of pictures, that is until within a half hour of our getting there and starting to look around. There was a man and a woman taking pictures of everyone's displays and one of the ladies said . . . . "Ahh, excuse me, WHAT are you doing??" He walked over and told her why he was taking the picture (I think they liked her display and wanted to maybe copy it??). She said, "No." So they walked away and were whispering about how mean she was. I can totally understand, though, why she wouldn't want them to take pictures. Heck, it's her display and she doesn't want anyone copying it. But there was no way I was whipping out my camera and taking pictures after that. So . . . I got nothing, again.
I was truly excited about the Purple Mohair Lady anyway, and was looking out for her display. I wanted more of that gorgeous purple from last year (or was it the year before) - ugh. Anyway, I finally found her and went literally running over to her shelves and . . . . . . where the hell was the mohair? I kept looking, rummaging and thinking, this is not happening to me. After all - doesn't this woman know she is the "Purple Mohair Lady"?? I finally found this tiny little box in the corner that had mohair in it. The same balls, but I didn't see any purple. After talking to myself for about five minutes, I finally turned around and called out to her, "Hey, where's the gorgeous purple you had last year?" She came over and said, "Oh, there may be some in here, towards the bottom." Huh??? Now by "tiny box," I mean there was maybe 20 balls in there all together (about 3 oz. each). After further careful rummaging (this IS mohair), I had to come to the sad conclusion that there was no purple. All dreams of purple grandeur slipped away. There was to be no more purple mohair from the Purple Mohair Lady.
So - I have come to a sad conclusion.... From this day forth the Purple Mohair Lady no longer exists. She is henceforth to be referred to as the Blue Mohair Lady....
That is all.

OK, you know how I feel about purple, but that blue is gorgeous!
As for the woman who wouldn't let the person photograph her display, I kind of understand. But, she could have been nicer about it. I know that I hesitate to tell anyone percolating ideas because they often appear shortly afterward in someone's post or on another's blog.

That's sad about the purple, but the blue is lovely. Maybe you should just call her the Mohair Lady?
You could have tried kinnearing the displays...

When I took the pictures of the bunnies and the alpacas. I asked for premission from the owners. I only felt that was the proper thing to do. I didn't want to offend any of the owners by taking pictures of their displays.
Did the purple mohair lady actually have purple hair? Did you see the lady that had the purple hair?
I am sorry that you didn't find the purple mohair, but the blue is just as lovely.

I'm sorry you couldn't get the purple mohair. But the blue is pretty too. I'm sure you will make something beautiful with it.
