I'm a little twitchy today..... allow me to explain. Here are the Seaweed Socks that I've been working on lately for the Wendy Knits Toe-Up KAL.
I love this pattern, too. It kind of reminds me of Nanners, which I also love. I'm using Cherry Tree Hill, Supersock Potluck, 100% Merino, Fingering in the "Water" colorway. I'm ready to start the gusset on the second sock. Well, almost ready. That's the twitching part. I counted how many repeats I had on the first sock before I started the gusset. Then, I counted them again. Then, I counted them a third time. Then, I did a few more repeats on the second sock and got ready to start the gusset. Hmmm... It's looking a little long. I counted the repeats for a fourth time on the first sock, and ..... somehow the Knitting Fairies took one away! I was shocked and appalled. Yes, appalled! I was almost sure I hadn't done anything to offend the said Knitting Fairies. But I must have. Of course this all happened this morning when they knew I wouldn't be able to do anything about it until tonight. I have to think about that one repeat that needs to be ripped all day. A thousand curses!
Twitch.... Twitch.....

Curses on those Knitting Fairies. I thought fairies were supposed to be kindly helpers. Another childhood fantasy shattered.

Ugh! I hate when that happens :(
What a bunch of unhelpful fairies! I've decided to sit out the Seaweed socks. Pattern is similar to the Nanner socks enough that I don't think I'd finish them, especially since I haven't finished the Nanners yet and might even frog them. Ah well, I'm busy enough with other projects right now anyway.

those knitting fairies are a mischievous bunch! regardless of their escapades, those socks are lovely. :)

Ahh, someone else who can't count!! I know how that feels!
The Seaweed Socks are my favorite pattern. Pretty and easy to memorize. Of course, there's that pesky counting issue...

Do you have to leave out milk for knitting fairies like you do for house fairies? Maybe that is where you went wrong.
I hope the ripping went smoothly!

If only we could count, uh? I can't even recall how many times I've had finished sleeves that were a bit... uneven.
