As you know (or will shortly find out) - most people that have startitis will begin their reporting, blogging, sentence...... whatever . . . with: "I Started!!" Believe me, they are super excited with whatever new project they have embarked on. Do not bring up unfinished business (read W.I.P.S.) at this time. It will only mess with the startitis high going on - and we don't want that, right?
Moving along..... Guess what???? I STARTED! What did I start? Oh - you mean the whole world doesn't know???? I'm pretty sure I told everyone. lol Fine Fine Fine I started a new SHAWL! This will be my second shawl, and I have to tell you that it is going wonderfully well (of course, it's not that big yet). The pattern is Haruni and I just love the lace patterns in there. I was a little afraid at first when I started reading the directions and my eyes glazed over, but I just refused to worry about it and started following along. I'm even using the charts! I did not use the charts with Swallowtail, my first shawl. I followed the line-by-line and was glad to have it. It took a long time to finish, and I went very slowly. Don't get me wrong. There is nothing bad about using line-by-line directions instead of a chart. I just want to be able to do both. I have used plenty of charts with colorwork, and sock charts with lace, but this is new to me. I'm a shawl knitter now.. I can do this thing.
Not finished with the first repeat yet, but getting there:
The original shawl is variegated, so I tried to stick with variegated fingering weight, but colors that muted nicely. I want to be able to see the lace patterns when it's done. I hope this yarn works. It's Knit Picks Imagination sock yarn in the Looking Glass colorway. A nice little bit of alpaca in there. Heck, if it doesn't work out - I'll just rip it right out and start with another yarn. After all, I am a shawl knitter now!
except that three stitch provisional cast-on was kind of rough and didn't work well, and the stitches not on the chart were hard to remember .... and . . .

I am so proud of you! I think that your yarn choice is going to work brilliantly. You go girl!
