This was my sole purpose in life today:
Cleaning out our 50 gallon fishtank. It's my own fault. The filter on this tank is really easy to change. You just pull out the old stuff, and put in new stuff. For some reason, I must have figured that if I kept buying replacements (I counted 16) that the filter would change itself. Novel concept, huh? Probably not smart. I had to empty the tank almost to the bottom, take everything but the gravel out, wash everything, put it all back in. . . . .. All. Day. Long. (Paul was conveniently outside doing "outside stuff" during my trauma).
No knitting. Nadah.
Tomorrow, I'm going to get my Ravelympics projects together and post them (so there's no backing out). See on the sidebar? I'm a Ravelympian! Go me...... he he
Right now? I'm off to take a shower so I can stop smelling like fish, then the knitting and drinking will commence ... well into the evening..
oooo we have a huge tank too, I have no idea how many gallons it is...I'm just thankful it doesn't have to be cleaned often at all...and dh does it...

Ahh, but that's one of those jobs that just makes you feel so virtuous when you're done with it. Sort of like cleaning out the refrigerator. I always treat myself to a glass of wine or ice cream (or both!) after fridge cleaning!
Are your fish smiling?

Just think of how shocked the fish will be when they can see you smiling through the glass at them. A good job, well done, if you ask me.

But don't you love a clean fish tank? My big guy always cleaned ours when we had some. We kept moving and finally gave up on aquariums.
Thanks for your comment on my blog. I will certainly check out your suggestion.
