There was cleaning action going on Friday night. Paul started vacuuming at 10:30 p.m. (I'm trying to watch t.v. here), and I actually had to use my rescue inhaler! WTH! Don't look at me like that, there wasn't THAT much dust, I'm just really allergic. Saturday morning I even dusted a little, although I stuck the feather duster up in the ceiling fan light and after awhile it started smoking and I smelled something electrical burning. Uh Oh.... I had to unplug it and take the bulb out. Paul will need to figure that one out. I'm sure a piece of the duster is stuck up in there now. See! I suck at cleaning.
There was in-law visitation which went rather nicely. Paul's parents were over from Cleveland for the afternoon. We talked, we laughed, we ate. The rest of the weekend was spent trying to get my Ravelympic projects to the point where I can finish them by the 24th. That's this Sunday!
I have all of the Tweedy Black Swirl spun up, but I still need to ply the last skein, wash it, and dry it. There was a full pound, so I'm hoping to end up with 1,000 or a little more on the yardage. It's mostly worsted weight.
I'm thinking of knitting a ribby cardi with this as my plurk friends suggested. At this point I'll be happy to knit anything that isn't a sock!
I started on the purple mohair/angora fiber. There is 13 ounces of it.
I think I'm only going to end up with two bobbins, so one large skein. I could be wrong, and it might be two skeins. We'll see. Not sure what the yardage will end up being. Maybe 600 yards? Here is the purpley goodness:
pre-drafted and ready to spin.
And I just started the heel flap on the second Happy Sock.
The second sock seems to be pooling a little where the first one didn't so much. You think?
Nutkins? Almost to the toe of the first one.
What do you think my chances are for finishing all this before Sunday?
OMG, gorgeous singles!! I'm jealous.

You are hereby officially excused from all cleaning henceforth. Amen.

The Tweedy Black Swirl will look good in a cardigan. And I give you an official Pass from cleaning. Allergic...nuff said.

I think our chances of finishing our Ravelympic projects will greatly improve if we skip cleaning AND work for the rest of the week. Getting our DHs and bosses to agree might be tricky.
