Ah... another Friday and no plans again for the weekend. How do I get so lucky? I'm thinking that with all my free time this weekend that I will knit.... yeah... that's it. I'm gonna knit! Okay, you all can stop cracking up now... we all know this is all I ever do on the weekend. :) What else is there, really?
To update, I've been working on the same three projects for most of the week and I'm sure I'll work on them over the weekend as well.
Here's Palindrome so far...
I had to institute the "no flash" rule to keep us from being blinded by the redness of Palindrome. How long should I make it? I plan to use this whole skein of Paton's, but I may need to use more. Shouldn't I make it long enough to wrap around the neck a few times and hang down nice and low? It's not terribly wide so I'm thinking length will make up for that. I'm also thinking of making a pair of gloves to go with this and the Palindrome hat. No mittens for Mom. Has to be gloves. Does anyone know of a good pattern with worsted weight yarn? I promise I will be very grateful!
Here's some pRon for your Friday.....
Good one, huh? Kind of like a sunrise of sorts... lovely..... Gaze into the beauty that is fiber. Awh.....
Onward. I have 8 repeats of the 14 done on Swallowtail, then I'll have to figure out how to do the "knitting nepps" that are at the bottom that make up the "tail" section.
I've switched to the Harmony wood tips and 60" cables from KnitPicks so I can lay it out completely flat. I use the cables as flexibles which means I cap the ends and use both cables to make very long straights. I love knitting like this. You don't have to deal with a very long straight needle. They really kill my wrist and neck muscles after awhile.
More pRon? Sure.....
The purple loveliness......
Lastly, I'm working on the plain socks that I'm making from the frogged Spring Forwards. This is KnitPicks Bare Donegal Tweed that I dyed with Yellow Sun and Periwinkle Jacquards Dyes using my Super Duper Sock Crock Pot Method.... he he
You may also remember these as my "puce" socks (coined by Missy - just how pregnant are you now girl? ;) ), but I'm going to refrain at this point from calling them names. Yarn gods and all, you know? This is also my first time at re-using sock yarn that's been tightly knit. Not too bad. Those sock blanks are looking better to me all the time.....
In other news, I have received the 16" circular and will commence with the second sleeve of Taupe Gable too. Not sure when, though, I'm still having nightmares.... ;)
Happy Weekend All! Think of me... I'll be knitting....
I'm in love with palindrome. I was toying with a similar color yarn in the store some days ago, and I put it down eventually. Now I'm sorry! Har har
I agree that a long scarf is in order. As long as you don't get bored!

I'm in love with your purple Swallowtail. Nepps really aren't that hard, at all.

I will definitely be thinking and being jealous that you get to knit this weekend. This is my weekend to work. Pooh... Would rather be knitting.

What a fun thing to be doing on a weekend! Maybe I'll just join you (in spirit). I've got a sock to finish!

Enjoy your knitting weekend. The scarf, shawl and socks look fantastic,

I think that a slimmer scarf should be longer - precisely for your reasoning - you gotta wrap it! I love the red, and I am a sucker for Paton's, its kinda my work horse of sorts.
Your pictures look great!! I am definitely impressed with your mad picture taking skills. Gold star for you, girl!
I hope your weekend goes great! I'll be on the lookout for some gloves. After all, our minds are the same, right? =)

Thanks for your comments. I heart that red yarn. I have been looking for some red lace weight to use to make a smoke ring. I'd make the scarf plenty long!
