I just realized today that we are getting down to the wire here.... Actually, I MAY not finish my Christmas projects. Well...one in particular. One that I can't show you because it is stealth. Let's just say it will be a stretch to finish it. Daniel's Hoodie is done! YAY.
Okay - doesn't this look like something Caspar the Friendly Ghost would be wearing? he he. Love the hood! Although, it was not the easiest to do. I know there has to be better hoods out there done in the round. This one has a nice seam right up the back (not too well seamed, either, I might add). Dani is still working on the "finishing-up" part of good knitting if you know what I mean. Also, the "ties" that go in the hood front were really neat to make. You just take two strands of 60" (they said 45", but that was too short) and twist them together (you can have Paul to help if you need him, he worked pretty well for me) until they start to turn on themselves (kind of like when you are putting a skein together). Then, you bend them in half (like folding a sheet) and they miraculously turn into a tie that does not untwist. VERY cool. You definitely need to try this. So much better than I-cord. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.
Here is a close-up to show closer to the "true" color.
And I'm doing double duty with Mom's Palindrome hat and scarf (yes, I moved onto the hat for a change of pace - I'm STILL not done with the scarf), and Pauley's beanie (done) and scarf (the kid needs a scarf too, don't ya think?). He only asked for the beanie. Hello. Who out there knows there is no way I am making a hat without something to go with it. :)
The top picture shows the truer color of the blue (Navy), and the bottom is closer to the truer color of the red. Go figure....
I also have another project done that I can't show you. It is stealth Christmas knitting. It will be on Knitting Purls Group, Winter Warmies KAL on Ravelry. Go see me there (except the person who I'm knitting it for, you know who you are - stay away poppet!).
I wanted to add that I am missing all of my Plurk pals lately. Terribly. I haven't been able to catch up for a few weeks now. I've been busy at work and I wrenched my back over the weekend and had to miss a day of work. (Laundry can be downright dangerous at times, especially when you save it up). I hope to catch up with all of you soon. Don't forget me!!
Also, I've signed up for a "spin-a-long" on Zarzuela's Fiber Junkies Group on Ravelry, to start after the first of the year. We're going to be doing Navajo plying!! This works so well for showing off colors in a handpainted roving. YAY. Can't wait to learn it. Perhaps you'd like to join us? Come see!!!
Okay - I'm off to see what other trouble (or injury) I can get into this week...... It's not over yet. ha ha
Love the hoodie. Can't wait to see the stealth project.

Hope you make it to your deadline. I'm sort of glad mine are over with, although I'm still in denial about the socks for the boy. Whatever.
Glad you're excited about the spin along! Me too!!

Nice hoodie. I see you are still addicted to the deadline knitting. I've managed to avoid it all except my mom's socks. :-)
I tagged you on my blog. hahaha!

Love the sweater. Take care of that wrenched back. You really don't want to end up like me.
