I know I haven't blogged about Swallowtail for awhile, but I am still working on it. I finally finished the "nupp" portion and have about 20 rows left before it is finished. Of course, there are 200+ stitches on each row now, so it may not be done for awhile! I'm using 60" cables from Knitpicks, split up with the caps on the end. I like these "flexible" straights because I can pretty much spread the whole shawl out while I am working on it.
I am still in love with the purpley mohair goodness.... Even more now that I don't have to purl 5 together anymore. HA!
On one of my recent forays into the basement I saw some of those interlocking foam tiles that everyone's been talking about for blocking. Paul must have received them as a gift. Hmmmmmm.... I don't have a blocking board or a bed that is not filled with water, so I'm sure those will be MINE at some point. Just don't tell Paul......
In other news, I finished spinning the 4 oz. of superwash merino in the Toasted Banana colorway that I purchased from Zarzuela's Fibers.
I'm supposed to be navajo-plying this for the Sping-A-Long on Zarzuela's Fibers Group on Ravelry, but I may end up doing a two ply instead in order to get more yardage. When you navajo ply, you end up with a three ply and the yardage would be less. Since I couldn't make my mind up how to ply it, I brought out another gorgeous 4 oz braid of merino from Zarzuela to play with. This one is called Girls and Boys:
Doesn't she do an excellent dye job!! And I'm positive she has a braid of this left in her shop, too!! Go get it!
I'll just spin some of this up while I'm deciding what to do with the Toasted Banana...... :)
Ahhhh... Lots of colory goodness today, eh?
You are just daring me to try spinning, aren't you?? I really like that Toasted Banana colorway.
Can't wait to see it when you are finished.

I've eyed that "boys & girls" colorway many times. I love it, but I'm trying to resist. (Voice in head: "She'll dye more, she'll dye more...")

Boys and girsl, it's just so candylike, right? I love those colors.
I'm looking forward to seeing the shallow tail finished soon.
